nice video! it seems that native instruments is leaving maschine behind, its a shame, and the maschine plus does not have updates in anything, for example I wanted to use two pad controllers for finger drumming but the maschine plus does not accept that you connect a maschine mk3 or a maschine mikro, really crazy. I have to use my maschine plus with an akai mpd218 pad. So maschine is not compatible with its own brand, I really dont get it.

It doesn’t seem Maschine support is forthcoming. Then, it doesn’t seem full midi 2.0 support is coming fast either, but the polyphonic aftertouch and the Logic + Komplete Kontrol integration is the primary selling point. Some VSTs take advantage of MPE expressiveness like Roli and Osmose, but NI doesn’t seem to be going there - too bad. I guess I just wait….

Thanks. It took about 2 weeks but many of hours. In 2024. Now a can do without. I love it and now that Kontrol MK3 will not support the Maschine, who know where NI is with continued support. I love the MPC XSE but Maschine is winning me over.

I see it different: Mikro is for more traditional use, PC and Mikro, big Mk3 is for people who want to stop using keyboard, mouse and PC screen. I do not agree that using big Mk3 with it screens is the only right way, level higher than Mikro users. It just depends on needs. I also think that big Mk3 is a bit fancy with screens and knobs, it is not necessarily faster, ex. dragging sample to certain pad, pad colours and many more are clicks away on PC, and many pressing buttons and turning knobs on big Mk3. But I have to admit that feeling of doing it all on big Mk3 only is one of a kind and isn't having fun one of most important things in every hobby?

Important! - if u don't plug your monitors in, and u just have heaphones plugged into your mk3, remember: on maschine go to settings, hardware, MK3 outputs - main + phones. In that way u can hear sound via MK3 in the audio interface mode. Without monitors and headphones, remember to set built-in output, without using mk3 as an audio interface. that makes latency higher, but u will hear the sound via macbook speakers. Cheers

Good on you for calling them out on dropping the Maschine integration. We need to get more attention from influencers and creators on this issue. They said on their forums "only a small percentage of users used both products together" but judging by the response on the forums and comments here that's BS. IMO they just wanted to cut costs. Such a shame that they developed a great system only to abandon it.

Agree with you 100% that the Kontrol MK2 is a better keyboard than the MK3 if you are using Maschine. And that is a big step backwards. I use DAWs too but Maschine is my primary tool to generate ideas and that's in concert with the Kontrol S88MK2. Native Instruments really has some explaining to do here and I don't feel comfortable recommiending the Kontrol MK3 keyboards. Might as well go with an Arturia Essential MK3 which is what I bought instead as my second keyboard and has better integration with Arturia instruments.

That wack ass keyboard shows tge business model of NI. They have never been concerned with beat making software like a DAW, or sample groove boxes like MPCs. NI's only concerns were to sell its virtual instruments. At tge time people were not buying virtual instrument suits like that, . So NI made the Maschine hardware as a basis for people to buy its VSTs. And people eventually started using them in DAWs. Personally the Maschine software is bunk and I see no reason to ever buy a Komplete suite. Abelton and a Push, Logic and a MPK, or FL Studio and its controllers, are way more of a better option than a MK3 or NI keyboard.
